Sink float tanks are made of stainless steel separation tanks designed to separate heavily soiled, crushed plastic waste from other materials of different densities (e.g. film flakes from sinking particles of PET bottles) and contaminants such as sand, stones, metals, etc.
The structure of the sink float tank is a large water-filled container, which initially washes and separates the floating material from the sinking one. Moving the grinded material on the surface of the tank is possible due to the use of a system of agitators (flotators) and screens as well as blades mounted on them. Sink float tanks are equipped with appropriate horizontal and vertical screw feeders, which enable current collecting of contaminants from the bottom of the tank. The cleaned material is discharged with water into centrifuge, which additionally enables the current tank water circulation. Better separation result is obtained due to the longer retention time of the material in separation tank. Using sink float tanks with increased length and width by heavy contamination, it is possible to use them in a cascade system.
