Vertical centrifuges are used for centrifuging moisture from the LLDPE, LDPE, PP, HDPE granulates intended for further processing. Due to the construction and mode of operation as well as the use of a suitably long rotor shaft, vertical granules centrifuges are more effective in centrifuging from water like horizontal centrifuges, thanks to which the plastic granulating line does not require a separate vibrating dewatering screen.

Wet and moist granulate is supplied to the inlet of the centrifuge through a small drainage screen installed in the centrifuge base, which initially separates the granulate from water. Then from the bottom of the centrifuge chamber, finding the rotor driven by a motor (vertical rotary shaft and attached to it – the impeller blades), the product is transported vertically upwards. During the transfer the granules with centrifugal force hit the cylindrical sieve which encapsulates the rotor, thus on the surface of this sieve the water precipitates from the material under the impact force. The product centrifuged from the water in the upper part of the chamber is transferred to the cyclone mounted in the outlet, from where it goes to further processing, while the flowing water is collected in a water tank under the centrifuge chamber and then is discharged outside.
